What is Qwo Cellulite Treatment?

Qwo Cellulite Treatment

Cellulite is a dimpling of the skin generally located on the buttocks or thighs, caused by fat deposits right underneath the skin. It’s pervasive in women, and you may have heard it be compared to cottage cheese or orange peels. And while these may sound like a delicious snack, it’s not something most of us want to associate with our skin.

Enter: Qwo, the prescription medication specifically designed to target moderate-to-severe cellulite in adult women. It is made up of CCH-Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum aka CCH, which stimulates new collagen production and encourages better-looking skin.

How does Qwo work?

Qwo is a subcutaneous injection that enzymatically breaks apart the fibrous septae, or fatty deposits, that create the appearance of cellulite, and ultimately smoothes out the undesirable bumpiness. And while the injection is typically given in the buttocks, if you experience cellulite in the back of your thighs, your provider may be able to accommodate this area as an off-label treatment.

Qwo is a subcutaneous enzymatic injection containing two collagenases that target the structural causes of cellulite under the skin. Qwo works in three ways:

  • Releasing fibrous bands
  • Redistributing fat cells
  • Stimulating collagen growth

How long does it last?

Qwo results can last a few years and typically only take three separate treatments to achieve the most beneficial effects. You’ll wait up to 21 days between treatments and may receive up to 12 injections per treatment site. You’ll begin to see its incredible effects in as little as three weeks after the first treatment.

Who’s a good candidate for Qwo?

Chances are you’re a good candidate for Qwo already, but it’s important to note some safety precautions. If you’re allergic to collagenase or any ingredient in Qwo, then this treatment may not be for you. It’s crucial that you also tell your provider all medications you’re currently taking or if you are or plan to get pregnant.

What’s the recovery period?

For a treatment that can make you look and feel good about your body for years to come, the recovery period after Qwo is a small price to pay. However the bruising can be notable for some clients. You’ll typically encounter bruising at the injection site for a couple of weeks and have to contend with mild-to-moderate soreness that can easily be alleviated with an over-the-counter pain reliever. So it can be more than worth it for life-changing results.
